MEMBERSHIP SECTORS

The majority of our branch members work for CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL, however, we also have significant membership numbers within Local Authority linked organisations such as CAMBRIDGESHIRE FIRE SERVICE and CAMBRIDGESHIRE PROBATION SERVICE.  In terms of branch members in Education, we the biggest trade union within CAMBRIDGESHIRE SCHOOLS covering support staff in all areas.  We also have a large number of support staff branch members within Cambridgeshire FUTHER EDUCATION establishments.

Outside of traditional Local Authority boundaries, the fastest growing area of our membership is with the COMMUNITY sector.  We now have a new Community Sector that deals with this section of the membership on a countywide basis.   Separate to the Community & Voluntary membership we also have a number of UNISON members employed in the PRIVATE sector.
